Langaville – Menzi Primary School  was broken into less than a week after it was opened last Wednesday.
Two patrollers were allegedly tied up on Monday, and locked in one of the strong rooms, while perpetrators broke the door to the main vault to access the keys to the whole school and the other vaults.
A statement from the Department of Education states that there is evidence of forced entry in the administration block and the IT offices where the tablets are charged.

MEC of Education Panyaza Lesufi expressed his disappointment saying: “We are extremely disappointed that criminals can disrupt the education of learners in this community.”
Lesufi also urged the community to help in the apprehension of suspects.
“We challenge members of the community to assist and hunt the robbers by Friday, failing which we will have no choice but to withdraw all expensive equipment from the school”.
Tsakane SAPS has confirmed that a case had been open in connection with the robbery.
The smart school, valued at R105-million, is the first of its kind in the district.
It was handed over on the first day of school by MEC Panyaza Lesufi who urged the community to protect it.
This is a developing story and more details will be added as they become available.
