Tsakane – Women@CCBSA donated many sanitary pads and toiletries to ‘Lord is My Provider’ last Wednesday.

Poor households are always hardest hit by economic troubles and that is even worse for female orphans who can’t afford the cost of sanitary pads.

This is the reason why Women@CCBSA came together and donated various sanitary pads and toiletries to the orphaned girls at the ‘Lord is My Provider’ centre.

The non-profit organisation looks after orphaned and vulnerable children affected and infected by HIV/Aids in Langaville, Tsakane.

A group of women from Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa (CCBSA) came together and formed this movement with the sole purpose of lifting up each other and other women in the communities they live in.

“We made the decision to each donate sanitary pads and toiletries as we commemorated Women’s Day.

“This kind gesture proved that we are aware of our role in the community and the impact we can have,” said Nomfundo Masilela, sales team leader in Nigel.

The co-founder of ‘Lord is My Provider’, Thulisile Mqhaba, believes the donation has saved the NPO thousands of rands.

“This has made a great impact to the girls who won’t have to use tissue or cloth now when they have their periods.

“We didn’t have money to buy all these things.

“I counted the value myself. Pads would have cost R1 300, panty liners R800, Roll-on R1 600, R250 for toothpaste, and R120 for body lotion,” she says.

Potential donors may contact Thulisile Mqhaba on 073 0161 723 or send an email to lordismyprovider1@gmail.com
