Pensioners help brighten the less fortunate’s lives

“We are calling on other residents to lend a helping hand to the centre, especially those who have sewing skills and are gym trainers and retired nurses.”

KwaThema – Benoni Woolies pensioners recently donated underwear (200), sanitary pads (100) and toiletries to St Mitchel Home in KwaThema.

The group of pensioners, who meet once a month, collect funds during their meetings to help make a difference in their communities.

Member of the group Mathabo Phetla says they are happy they were able to make a difference in the lives of those who are in need.

“We are calling on other residents to lend a helping hand to the centre, especially those who have sewing skills and are gym trainers and retired nurses.

“The centre can do with all our support to afford the needs of those who use the facility,” she says.
