CanSurvive Cancer support groups: Helping each other beat cance

CanSurvive Cancer organisation hosted a CanSurvive support group session on Wednesday morning

KwaThema- CanSurvive Cancer organisation hosted a CanSurvive support group session on Wednesday morning in Ekurhuleni East College KwaThema Campus where victims of cancer and cancer survivors gathered to talk about issues they face every day.

This was also part of celebrating Prostate Cancer awareness month.

The support group has over 50 members affected by cancer.

The director Ronnie Nkabinde said the topics tackled in the support sessions focus on the problems they face when taking the treatment and how to cope with the side effects.

They also shared on how to cope when living with the condition and how taking treatment affects those around them.

In each support group session, they also have experts like psychologists, dieticians and oncologists that help

them when they discuss medical issues.

Next week the support group will be having a session in Tsakane.

Nkabinde says they are struggling to get support from local businesses and would encourage anyone who is able to help with anything to come forward.
