Drunk drivers were arrested in Kwatsaduza over the weekend

Kwatsaduza – Six drivers were arrested for driving while under the influence of alcohol and 176 fines issued for various offences on last Saturday in Duduza and KwaThema.
This was during the EMPD and SAPS joined roadblocks in KwaThema and Duduza between 4pm and 11pm.
EMPD spokesperson, Chief Superintendent Wilfred Kgasago, says in KwaThema the police conducted a roadblock on Habedi Street at the entrance of KwaThema where four drivers were handcuffed.
“In Duduza, the police targeted the intersection of Sonneskraal and Ndudula streets where two drivers were arrested.”

Meanwhile, during another operation on Sunday both in Tsakane and Duduza, five drivers were arrested for drinking and driving under the influence of alcohol.
“The roving roadblocks also yielded 58 fines issued for defects on vehicles and for non-valid documentation.
“The arrested drivers were detained at Tsakane and Duduza Police Stations and were expected to appear in the Tsakane and Nigel Magistrate’s Courts to face driving under the influence of alcohol charges,” he says.
