Struggling centre receives finacial aid

“Through the donation we can keep the facilities’ doors open for a little longer.”

Tsakane- Leth’ukhanya Care Centre recently received a R30 000 financial injection from the Peermont Community Benefit Trust (PCBT), a CSI initiative of Emperors Palace last Friday.

This was after the organisations heard of the centre’s financial plight on Radio 702.

The centre cares for vulnerable, destitute and orphaned children in the area.

Simphiwe Mnisi had called into the station sharing some of the challenges they are facing and how some of the children who needed their refuge into their centre were turned away.

SimphiweMnisi says this was due to facing its worst financial challenges since its establishment in 2013.

“The facility, which can accommodate 40 children and four full-time live in caregivers, has recently been forced to remove some of the children due to a lack of resources.

“Through the donation we can keep the facilities’ doors open for a little longer.

“We are grateful for the donation and we are calling on more donors to come forward to help keep the children safe in the centre,” she says.
