Churches can’t use school premises anymore

“Churches play an important role in the community.”

Duduza – Over 33 churches in Kwatsaduza, operating in school premises, have been left in the cold after they were told by the schools they could no longer use their facilities, last month.

It is alleged this is as a result of the increased break-ins in schools and new developments with the use of the new electronic white boards.

Faith-Based Organisation Bishop Madiba Tila says they are concerned about the many churches that don’t have anywhere to go.

“We understand their concerns about the security challenges when we are using the facility but where are we supposed to go now?

“We were told some of the thugs might be using the churches to gain entry into the schools. We want our schools to be safe and we have for years ensured they are,” he says.

Bishop Madiba says they will be hosting a prayer session on August 5, at Duduza Multipurpose Centre.

“We are calling on different churches in the area to come forward to a prayer meeting to help come up with ways to help them.

“Churches play an important role in the community,” he says.
