4+1 taxi drivers do their bit for Mandela Day

Springs Taxi Association's 4+1 committee celebrates another centenarian on Mandela Day.

Zweli Mbonani, head of the 4+1 disciplinary committee, says they find great pleasure in serving the elderly.

“This is our contribution and we hope Gogo Anna is happy.

“We have been hard at work all morning cleaning the house and yard.”

Community members of Ward 74 lent a hand to clean up Gogo Anna’s home on Mandela Day. Some did the laundry while others cleaned the house and the yard.

This is done in efforts to show that the drivers are responsible citizens.

“We are always looking out for opportunities to improve on the lives of the vulnerable and less fortunate.”

Last month the committee helped build gogo Elizabeth Mabena (81) a ramp for her wheelchair.

The day was rounded off with a braai and some cake to mark the celebration of Gogo Anna.

Bongiwe, Gogo’s great-granddaughter says the family appreciates the community’s efforts.
