KwaThema – It is alleged Mjwayeleni Sokhela (35) was driving along Thema Road near Extension Five, KwaThema, with two passengers when the incident occurred.
KwaThema police spokesperson Captain Thabo Sibuyi says the victim alleges there were two male passengers in the car when he was stopped by another male along the road.

“One of the passengers who was in the front seat directed the complainant not to stop but he did.
“He then hit the driver with a firearm in his face and instructed the driver and the new passenger to lay back on their seats, face down.
“Both suspects searched the driver and the passenger and took two cellphones, bank cards and a driver’s licence from the driver’s wallet.”

Sibuyi adds they dropped the driver and passenger off at Heidelberg Road towards Vosloorus and drove off.
“No one has been arrested and police are investigating a case of hijacking,” he says.
