Ayanda Mabulu is now ready to sell the painting that caused headlines in July, depicting President Jacob Zuma in a compromising position with Atul Gupta.
Speaking to City Press, he said he had turned down offers to buy the painting because, as part of his artistic process, he needed to “spend time with the painting”.
However, Mabulu is ready to sell the painting, and the going price is R345 000.
“It’s because the story is relevant and is very true. It tells the real story of the Guptas and state capture.”
Mabulu said he did not plan on stopping these type of paintings until he saw “changes in the country”.
