Jali not in Bafana squad for World Cup qualifier

Thulani Serero, May Mahlangu and Ayanda Patosi have all been recalled to the Bafana Bafana squad for the opening 2018 Fifa World Cup qualifier against Burkina Faso in Ouagadougou on October 8.

Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Andile Jali misses out with injury.

Bafana coach Shakes Mashaba said on Friday that Jali was out of action for three weeks.

Pirates midfielder Oupa Manyisa, meanwhile, is back in the Bafana squad after his return to the Buccaneers starting line up this season.

Bafana will also play Ghana in a friendly at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on October 11.

Goalkeepers: Mabokgwane, Khune, Mhlongo

Defenders: Mphahlele, Coetzee, Hlatshwayo, Mobara, Thopola, Langerman, Mathoho, Matlaba

Midfielders: Furman, Mahlangu, Serero, Manyisa, Patosi, Dolly, Modiba, Makola, Kekana

Strikers: Rodgers, Gabuza, Mncwango, Vilakazi, Rantie
