Kaizer Chiefs defender, Ramahlwe Mphahlele believes the win they scored against Highlands Park on Wednesday evening will go a long way in giving the team confidence.

Amakhosi registered their first win of the season when they beat Absa Premiership new boys 1-0 at Makhulong Stadium in Tembisa on Wednesday night.

“It feels good obviously. It’s the three points (that’s important). The coach said to us before the game that we need to go all out to get a win, so we can get our confidence back,” said Mphahlele on Thursday morning.

“It was a good win for the team and we can only build on it. Going forward we want to start winning games and collecting points,” added the former Mamelodi Sundowns captain.

Mphahlele also refuted claims that Amakhosi boss, Kaizer Motaung Senior had given the team a pep talk ahead of the game.

“No, he never spoke to us,” said Mphahlele when asked about it.
