Gyimah was videoed last week having an argument with Pirates coach Muhsin Ertugral at Cape Town International Airport, as the team returned home from a 2-1 win at Ajax Cape Town. Ertugral substituted Gyimah at half time against Ajax and the Ghanaian was totally omitted for the City game.
“There was no disciplinary (hearing),” said Pirates administrative manager Floyd Mbele, however, on Wednesday.
“Thabo Rakhale was also not in the squad (for the City game), we have three games next week, and I think the coach is trying to work around that.
“I saw that (video), whoever was capturing it only got the tail end, we need to engage a number of people involved. Even the video clip I saw, doesn’t show much, except to show him (Gyimah) charging and the players stopping him, you can’t see much. Whatever happens we still have to take (go through) an internal process. The player (Gyimah) is available for selection, we are only able to talk about someone doing something wrong when we have seen all the evidence, at this point it is premature.”
Pirates’ next game is at Bidvest Wits on Saturday evening.
