Highlands Park striker Charlton Mashumba says going up against his fellow countryman in Kaizer Chiefs colours will not stop him from trying to win the match for the Lions of the North.

Mashumba’s side will welcome the struggling Soweto giants at the Makhulong Stadium on Wednesday night in their second league game of the season.

The Zimbabwean international will reunite with fellow Warriors stars – Willard Katsande, Edmore Chirambadare and Michelle Katsvairo – who all play for Chiefs.

“Yes the match is an opportunity to reunite with the homies, but this is work as well – we have to forget about that for 90 minutes,” Mashumba told AfricanFootball.com.

“I will try to win for my team and they will also do the same, so it’s war until the final whistle.

“We want to continue doing well because this is our home game and the mission is to fight harder although they are not an easy team to beat.”
