Highlands Park boss Sinky Mnisi insists the club’s goal for this season is to survive the relegation drop.

The Lions of the North will play in their first Absa Premier League game on Tuesday night against a familiar foe in Baroka FC. The two sides were promoted to South Africa’s top flight league at the end of last season, having finished first and in second place in the National First Division.

Highlands bolstered their squad in the recent transfer window, signing players with PSL experience while adding a few from the lower leagues. Despite their impressive business in the transfer market, Mnisi insists their only goal is to stay in the Absa Premier League.

“Anywhere on the (PSL) league table will do, as long as we are not in the relegation zone. If we get a top eight finish then it’s a bonus, but our aim is to stay in the Premier Division,” Mnisi told Khaya FM.
