Shack fire kills two boys in North West

Their mother has been taken in for questioning by police.

Two boys burned to death when a shack caught fire in Ramatlabama near Mahikeng, North West, police said on Friday.

Lieutenant-Colonel Makau said the boys, aged one and two respectively, burned to death on Thursday night at Ikopeleng village, in Ramatlabama.

“Their mother was allegedly not in the house at the time of the incident, but she was later taken to the police station for questioning.”

Makau said the cause of fire was still unknown at this stage, and police investigations into the incident were under way.
