Dean Furman has welcomed the signing of Tefu Mashamaite at SuperSport United.

Furman had just finished Bafana Bafana training on Tuesday when Phakaaathi broke to him the news of his club snapping up the former Kaizer Chiefs central defender.

“If that is the case then that is another signal of our intent … it is brilliant, the competition for places is now even higher. If I am not mistaken, the last thing he did in this country was pick up every award going, he is a player of top quality and that is really a signal of intent of what we are looking to do this season,” said Furman.

Mashamaite left Chiefs for BK Haecken in Sweden at the end of the 2014/15 season, after winning the league with Kaizer Chiefs and picking up the PSL Footballer of the Season Award, the Players’ Player of the Season Award and the Absa Premiership Defender of the Season Award.
