Nine youngsters, including national Under-20 striker Khanyisa Mayo, are set for trials at various clubs in Portugal after their displays at the recent Durban Under-19 International Football tournament reportedly captured scouts’ interests.

The youngsters will have their capabilities checked at teams like Real Sport Clube–Queluz, Sporting Lisbon and Benfica. The dates for their trials have not been announced yet.

Sanele ‘Scefe’ Dlamini, Dylan ‘Stororo’ Stoffels, Sibusiso ‘Section 10’ Magaqa, Romario Moses, Simon ‘Scara’ Mbhele, Sphephelo ‘Yaya’ Sithole, Graeme Pratt, Zola ‘Madlebe’ Jingxi and Mayo.

Mayo, the son of former Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United striker Patrick Mayo, was the top goal scorer in the Durban Under-19 tournament recently.

The nine are following on Thabo Cele’s footsteps.

Cele recently signed his first professional contract at Real Sport Clube–Queluz in Portugal.
