F State woman under police guard after stabbing partner

The woman had three stab wounds in the upper body and is under police guard at a local hospital.

A Bloemfontein man was stabbed to death, allegedly by his girlfriend, during in a domestic fight, Free State police said on Friday.

“He was stabbed in what is suspected to be a domestic scuffle that had gone really wrong. It is alleged the deceased was stabbed to death following a vicious domestic scuffle that had erupted between him and his 36-year-old girlfriend. The deceased was found lying in a pool of blood in the kitchen of his house and had sustained 13 stab wounds in the upper body,” said police spokesperson Captain Chaka Marope.

The woman had three stab wounds in the upper body and was under police guard at a local hospital.

“A case of murder has been opened. The suspect is expected to appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrates’ Court as soon as she is recovered from her injuries,” Marope said.
