Neighbors said after hearing a gunshot, the wife ran out of the house to the security guard station, Bosveld Review reports .
A source who was at the scene explained that the woman told the security guards that her husband wanted to shoot her after a tiff they had, and she pleaded with them to help her.
“The man tried to run away, but he was stopped by the security. His firearm was taken from him, and the police were called to the scene.”
“When the police arrived, both the man and woman were taken into the house, where the police took down their statements,” the source said.
While the police were busy at the scene with their investigation, the entire estate was on lockdown. No one was allowed in or out.
The man and woman were taken to the Polokwane Police Station for further questioning.
Captain Ntobeng Phalo, a Polokwane police spokesperson, said he would look into the matter and give comment as soon as he got more information around the case.
Sherwood Estate falls under Tysocon Properties and Francois du Toit. Part of Tysocon Properties management said they did not have any information about the incident and were still waiting for feedback from the couple.
