Slaughter cows to honour Caster, says Limpopo chief

A feast of epic proportions and a bash await Caster Semenya when she returns from her athletic engagements in September.

Chief Kgabo Moloto has instructed the Moletji traditional council to prepare a huge celebration to honour Semenya’s win at the Rio Olympic games.

A number of cows will be slaughtered, and musicians will be brought in to perform and a feast for revellers prepared.

The bash will be hosted by royalty and Semenya will be treated as such, with a red carpet rolled out for her.

She was also greeted with the news she had received R100 000, in addition to the R500 000 she had already received.

“Indications are that Caster will be available starting from September 17. She will fly to Brussels to compete in an athletics event and will return on September 11. We hope she will be available on Heritage Day, as that date will suit us best,” Moloto said.

Semenya is in the country after arriving on Tuesday morning. She was met with praise as dozens of fans descended upon OR Tambo to see her. She was also greeted with the news she had received R100 000, in addition to the R500 000 she had already received.
