Sithole was at home gardening when an assailant approached him and fired a rifle at him.

Police need help tracing the whereabouts of a man they believe could be in a position to help them with a murder case, Ladysmith Gazette reports.

The murder happened on Tuesday, August 23, in the Mkhalandoda area of Weenen, in KwaZulu-Natal.

Weenen police believe the person depicted in the photo may be in a position to assist them in solving this murder.

Siphiwe Daniel Sithole, 46, was at home gardening when a person approached him and fired a rifle at him. He was injured and rushed to hospital by ambulance, but died on the way.

The deceased sustained gunshot wounds to the chest.

The motive is still being investigated.

Weenen police believe the person depicted in the photo may be in a position to assist them in solving this murder.

The individual is said to be known as Mbheki Sithole and was previously from the Mthebelu area of Weenen.

At this time, his whereabouts are unknown.
