ASEC Mimosas star Yannick Zakri has arrived in South Africa ahead of his move to Mamelodi Sundowns, according to reports in Egypt.

KingFut reports that a deal believed to be worth $350 000 (close to R5 million) was struck between Sundowns and ASEC over the transfer of the player to the Brazilians.

Zakri was said to be wanted by several clubs including Egypt giants Zamalek, who reportedly made a formal approach for a fee worth $200 000 (around R2.8 million), but their bid fell short of the one tabled by Sundowns.

KingFut also reported that Zakri made use of his CAF Champions League match suspension and took the trip to South Africa to negotiate personal terms ahead of putting pen to paper.

The 25-year-old player is set to finalise his move to South Africa in the coming days.
