Gavin Hunt says that Bidvest Wits are not going to let Ben Motshwari join Orlando Pirates or any other club, even though the midfielder could not make the squad for the Clever Boys’ 2-1 Absa Premiership win over Kaizer Chiefs on Tuesday evening.

Motshwari was excellent for Wits last season, but has found himself sidelined as the club have made heavyweight additions to their midfield this season.

New signings Xola Mlambo and Thabang Monare started in central midfield against Chiefs.

“Ben can’t make the team and he has been a stalwart for me for three years,” said Hunt, in praising the strength-in-depth in his side.

“(But) we will never release a player. We need everybody, the whole object was to try to strengthen the squad, so that even if we make changes we are strong.”
