Residents allege the dealers were giving users shots in the arm in full view.

Police busted two “known drug dealers” in Eersterust, in Pretoria, last week Thursday, reports the Pretoria Moot Rekord.

Eersterust police spokesperson Sergeant Sam Shibambo said: “We received numerous complaints in the past about these two men selling drugs in the bushes between the Mamelodi hostel and Tygerberg Street.”

He said the residents had told the police that the dealers were giving users shots in the arm in full view.

A police operation was arranged, and on Thursday afternoon police pounced on the unsuspecting men.

“All their escape routes were blocked – unable to run, they surrendered,” Shibambo said.

“When the police searched the men, they found 26 small plastic packets containing nyaope, and a total of 24 balls of dagga in a brown plastic bag.”

He said the men would appear in court soon.

Eersterust Police Station commander Colonel John Kgoetego commended the police involved in the operation for their dedication and commitment.
