Baroka missed numerous chances to score in their 1-1 draw with Ajax Cape Town.

Baroka FC coach Kgoloko Thobejane was disappointed with his side after missing numerous chances in their 1-1 draw with Ajax Cape Town at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Tuesday.

“Football can kill you sometimes,” Thobejane said after the game.

But the Limpopo outfit mentor remained firm that his side would be able to challenge for the league tittle.

“As Baroka we still say we are there, and we want to win this league. The only thing we need to work on now is to how to use our chances. If you play football and miss chances like that you will end up drawing all the games instead of winning.”

Meanwhile, Baroka midfielder Collins Makgaga, who was named the Man-of-the-Match in his Absa Premiership debut, shared his coach’s sentiments on wasting their goal-scoring opportunities, and said they were a better side on the night.

“We were supposed to have won the game. We were attacking Ajax, they were not playing. It’s a pity we didn’t use the chances we got,” Makgaga added.

“The coach told us to win this game because it is our home game. But again, it is better that we drew instead of losing.”

Baroka’s next game is an away clash against Highlands Park, while the Urban Warriors will host Orlando Pirates at home.
