Kaizer Chiefs defender Tsepo Masilela says it is important for Amakhosi to start the season on a high note, but is worried that Bidvest Wits will pose a great threat tonight.

“Wits finished second, and their coach, Gavin Hunt, has won many trophies before,” Masilela told the club’s official website.

“They have quality players. We are aware this is the opener and everyone wants to start on a high. The positive is that we are ready. Everyone goes in the opener with the aim to start strong. We want to have a good run from the word, go.

“We don’t want to play catch up. We want to be in the thick of things from the start. We have learnt our lessons, and this time we are geared to have a good run from the start.”

Amakhosi will meet the Students at Bidvest Stadium tonight at 7.30pm.
