University of Limpopo students up in arms over student shooting

This comes after the shooting of a student at his off-campus residence over the weekend.

The University of Limpopo (UL) marched to Mankweng Police Station on Monday to hand over a memorandum of demands on safety and security-related matters for off campus students.

This follows the shooting of a student at his off-campus residence over the weekend. According to reports, this is the second student to be shot in under 6 months, Review Online reported.

Police have since opened a case of attempted murder.

Mankweng police’s Mohlaka Mashiane appeals to anyone with information regarding the incident to contact their nearest police station.
