Tinkler is speaking from a well-informed position, as he was in charge of the Mayfair-based side last season, where he managed Myeni.

Cape Town City coach Eric Tinkler is keen on signing transfer listed Orlando Pirates winger Sifiso Myeni, but the former Bafana Bafana international says the midfielder’s wages are a bit high to match.

Tinkler is obviously speaking from a well-informed position, as he was in charge of the Mayfair-based side last season, where he managed Myeni.

“Sifiso is an extremely talented player, and there is not a club in the league who will turn him down,” said Tinkler.

“I do not think we are any different. But there are a lot of challenges and obviously, Sifiso is on a very good wage package at Orlando Pirates.

“So to try and take him to the club [Cape City], it will be extremely difficult because of his [financial] expectations,” he added.

Myeni, along with the likes of Lehlohonolo Masalesa and Rooi Mahamutsa do not form part of Muhsin Ertugral’s plans this season, and have been reportedly training with the side’s Multichoice Diski Challenge side.
