Two women hit by car in Pietermaritzburg

One of the patients suffered serious injuries.

Two women were injured, one seriously, when they were hit by a car in Pieter Maritz Street in Pietermaritzburg on Saturday, KwaZulu-Natal paramedics said.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found one woman lying in the road. Upon assessment it was found that she sustained serious injuries, spokesperson Chitra Bodasing said.

The second patient was found walking around on the scene. She sustained minor injuries. Both women, believed to be in their 20s, were treated and transported to hospital for further medical care.

The cause of the accident was unknown, Bodasing said.
