United announced Masuku’s capture last month, with the chairperson, Siviwe ‘Chippa’ Mpengesi, confirming the deal. However, the player was reluctant to make a move to the coast. The transfer involved Nkosinathi Mthiyane moving to Pirates from Chippa and Masuku taking his place at the Port Elizabeth side.
Masuku has agreed to a three-year deal with the Chilli Boys.
“We are happy to have concluded Menzi’s deal. We’d like to thank Orlando Pirates for their cooperation and assistance, as well as the good working relationship we have with them. We hope that Masuku will share his Olympic experience with the rest of the team and help us achieve our goals. With a coach like Dan Malesela, I believe he will become one of the best players this season,” said Mpengesi.
