People of Maselspoort outside Bloemfontein in the Free State have been urged by the Mangaung municipality to take note of a planned power outage that will take place on August 24.
The interruptions are set to take place for about eight hours from 9am-4pm.
The municipality said the shutdown was necessary for construction and maintenance upgrade on the networks.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused as the result of the interruption.”
The municipality said the Maselspoort community should take note of the following precautions during the power outage – that the power may be restored without warning at anytime during the shutdown period and that installations must therefore be treated as live and dangerous. Also, if the power was not interrupted within one hour of the scheduled time then the interruption would no longer take place until further notice.
