Kaizer Chiefs might have had a terrible campaign in the 2015/2016 season finishing without winning a trophy, something that rarely happens at Naturena.

However, goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune is adamant this season everything will be different.

Amakhosi’s number one shot-stopper says the team is looking good and they are all eager to start the new season with a clash against Bidvest Wits next week Tuesday.

“We are all excited with the new season. We are carrying the hopes of our supporters and we don’t want to let them down. I kept in touch with the team when I was in Rio and everyone is raring to go, starting with Wits next week Tuesday. We are ready to do well this season,” Khune was quoted on the club’s website.

Khune along with teammate Eric Mathoho who is on injury recently joined the squad following their participation at the Rio Olympics with the national under-23 team.

The shot-stopper says he is happy to be back and he always kept in touch with the team while he was away.

“It is good to be back. I am happy to see my team-mates and the Chiefs family. We are looking forward to working hard as always. The mood in the team is full of high expectations. We are working as a team and things are looking good for the season.”
