A young man from KwaDukuza was successfully resuscitated after being critically injured in an accident earlier today, North Coast Courier reports.
IPSS Medical Rescue’s Paul Herbst said the 21-year-old’s car rolled on the N2 South before the Tongaat Toll Plaza, in KwaZulu-Natal.
“On arrival paramedics found that the patient had gone into cardiac arrest.”
“The patient was quickly removed from the vehicle and paramedics began resuscitation efforts with Advanced Life Support, who then responded well to resuscitation and spontaneous circulation.
“He was transported in a critical condition to hospital.”
Herbst said that while successful traumatic resuscitation was extremely rare, the boy’s life still hung in the balance.
