Roger De Sa has indicated that Ajax Cape Town are still keen to sign Mark Mayambela and Lebogang ‘Cheeseboy’ Mokoena.

The Ajax Cape Town coach, however, says it will depend on how discussions progress with the two attacking midfielders.

“Mokoena and Mayambela have both trained with us and played with us,” said the Ajax coach at a press conference on Thursday.

“In a team like ours we are looking for creative players and senior players and players that are affordable and available to us.  Mark is still training with us, and Cheesboy has gone back to Joburg,  but they both helped and contributed a lot … now it all depends on negotiations from both sides if it is worthwhile or not.”

Mayambela, 28 and Mokoena, 29, are both currently free agents.

Ajax also confirmed the signing on Thursday of striker Joaquim Lupeta, defenders Erick Chipeta, Roscoe Pietersen and Kearopetse Molete, as well as midfielder Thabo Mosadi.

Ajax have also promoted seven youngsters from their academy ahead of the new season – Darren Johnson, Mogamat May, Sergio Kammies, Shane Satalina, Grant Margeman, Masilake Phohlongo and Luthando Matheza.
