The South African Football Association (Safa) CEO Dennis Mumble says the association will go through the final Rio Olympics report, which was compiled by Banyana Banyana coach Vera Pauw before deciding on her future.

“I would like to inform members of the media and the public that after the return of Banyana from the Rio Olympics, we requested coach Vera Pauw to compile an extensive report detailing where we came from and where this team is going, and she has done so. It is a normal progress report that will give us a direction on the next step,” Mumble told Safa.net.

Pauw’s future hangs in the balance after she guided the national women’s team to rock bottom in Group A, however, Banyana managed a single point but failed to score a goal in the Rio Olympics. However, Mumble says they will assess the national mentor’s report without revealing anything to the public, yet.

“And while we have received her report, we cannot pronounce much with regards to the future of the coach and other developments. These are internal processes which need to be followed,” he added.
