In an interview on SABC, the striker admitted that he was on the verge of signing with Eagles, but some disagreements regarding the living arrangements at the club were not suitable for him, that is why he did not sign.
“No, I’m not retired, I don’t know where the story comes from,” said Bacela. “We had an agreement that I was going to join Eagles, but obviously there were things we needed to iron out in terms of the deal which we couldn’t agree on.”
The 33-year old striker also shed some light over his time he spent at Cape Town City with former coach Eric Tinkler.
“I went there after speaking to Tinkler over the phone, but prior to me going there, they told me that they want a certain number of players and they were still waiting for some deal. So, if they don’t get the deal, I will be one of the players that they can sign, but so long I could train with the team. And I was in Cape Town when I got the call, that is why I went there,” said the 33-year old player.
“The minute the deal they were waiting for happened, I told them that it is not an issue and because they told me before coming here that this is the situation and that was it for me there.”
The former Orlando Pirates and Tuks striker didn’t reveal his next venture, but he made it clear that he is yet to retire and he has been training on his own so far.
