Mobara, Gift Motupa, Tercious Malepe and Thabiso Kutumela were all part of Owen da Gama’s team at the Rio Olympic Games linked up with the rest of the Buccaneers squad on Monday to catch up with the team’s preparations ahead of the new season.
“Monday was my first time back and I am just so excited to be coming straight to Johannesburg and join my new team for the pre-season,” Mobara told clubs website.
“The good thing is that I’m fit because I have been playing all along during the football break, so the only thing that’s left now is to gel with the team as quick as possible because it’s important if we want to be successful in the upcoming season.
The former Ajax Cape Town player says it is important for the squad to understand each other, especially the new players.
“As players we need to know each other individually, get used to each other and understand what it means to be part of the Orlando Pirates set up as well as understanding where I will play and what role the Coach wants me to play. I think it’s important for us who are joining the Team this week to work extra hard on catching up and gel with the rest of the team because that’s the whole point of pre-season.”
