The 40-year-old man allegedly locked up an 11-year-old boy in a shop and raped him.

A Pakistani national accused of raping a 11-year-old boy appeared in Moretele Magistrates’ Court in Hammanskraal.

He was arrested in Chris Hani section on Saturday after he allegedly raped the boy, Rekord North reported.

Police spokesperson Constable Herman Moremi said the boy told his mother what had happened.

“The mother reported to police that she heard from someone that her son was seen at the shop where the accused worked,” said Moremi.

“The mother waited for the boy to return home. When he eventually did, the boy was crying, in pain and could barely walk.”

Moremi said when the boy was asked what had happened to him, he said the man locked him up and raped him.

The boy was taken to hospital for treatment.

“The matter was postponed to a date still to be determined by the court, and he remains in custody,” said Moremi.
