Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed that Eric Mathoho will be sidelined for a few weeks due to a torn ligament in his ankle.

A scan done on the Bafana Bafana defender on Monday revealed that he tore a ligament while playing or South Africa’s Under-23 team in the Rio Olympics against Denmark.

“Injuy Update: Erick ‘Tower’ Mathoho tore a ligament in his ankle while playing for South Africa’s Under-23s against Denmark,” read a tweet from Chiefs.

Mathoho has been in a moon boot since missing SA Under-23’s last group game against Iraq.
