The outspoken sports minister called for a more stylish look for the SA team after observing that their tracksuits were lacking ‘swag’.

During a press conference with media, Mbalula said he was unimpressed by the sports gear the country’s teams were wearing.

According to Radio 702, Mbalula said it was a concern that other countries such as France and Italy wore tracksuits and Olympic regalia that were easy on the eye and had been especially designed by top fashion houses such as Giorgio Armani.

He said while the team was performing well and their outfits had little bearing on their performance in Rio, it would have been a great confidence booster if the team’s outfits were more stylish and ‘dripping swag’.
