Orlando Pirates coach Muhsin Ertugral has confirmed the signing of Thembela Sikhakhane from Golden Arrows.

Sikhakhane trained with Pirates during the preseason and even went with the team to Namibia, where Bucs finished fourth in a four-team tournament after losing on penalties to African Stars.

“Yes, he has signed. He is a good player and that’s why we signed him,” Ertugral told reporters after Pirates beat Platinum Stars 3-1 on penalties to clinch the Maize Cup on Saturday.

The 23-year-old defender, who is believed to have signed a three-year deal with Pirates, will compete with Happy Jele and Ntsikelelo Nyauza for a place in the starting XI this season.
