Usain Bolt also took gold this morning in the 100m race but his reaction to Van Niekerk’s win is everything.

Apart from Wayde van Niekerk winning South Africa’s first gold medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics this morning, the Cape-Town born runner also broke the 400m world record set by Michael Johnson 17 years ago.
