Police in Butterworth, in the Eastern Cape, have asked the public for help to identify a young man who appears to have been murdered, police said on Sunday.

“The deceased person was dropped [off] in front of Butterworth Hospital on Saturday, August 13, 2016, at about [5am],” Captain Jackson Manatha said.

The car that dropped off the body had five male occupants and immediately sped off. The security guards at the hospital “noticed the deceased had upper body injuries and was already dead”. Butterworth police were informed and a case of murder was opened, Manatha said.

Anyone with information about the murder or who could help identify the dead man was requested to contact Butterworth police at 047-401-1100 or Crime Stop 08600-10111.
