Le Clos takes silver in 100m butterfly final

In clinching the silver medal, Chad Le Clos has now earned four Olympic medals, which makes him the most decorated South African Olympian in the country’s 112 years of competing at the games.

Chad Le Clos is one of three swimmers who clinched the silver medal in the 100m butterfly final in the early hours of Saturday morning (SA time).

This brings Le Clos’s medal tally up to four, making him the most decorated South African athlete in the country’s 112 years of competing in the Olympic Games.

The silver medal also brings South Africa’s medal tally at these games up to five, with four silver medals and one bronze.

Staying in the water, swimmer Brad Tandy clinched sixth place in the highly anticipated 50m freestyle final.

Meanwhile, Day 7 also saw South Africans putting their best foot forward in the track and field events on the athletics pitch as they aim to qualify for the finals in their events:
