The scam artists send requests to ‘successful applicants’ to deposit the cash into an agency account.

Job seekers in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal have been warned against another recruitment scam doing the rounds.

According to a press statement released by the national department of public work’s Thami Mchunu, a fake employment agency called Path Finders is scamming members of the public out of R500, Northglen News reported. The account supposedly belongs to a Martha B Lepogo.

“The employment seekers are also given a bogus worker’s membership form to fill in with personal details including address and ID number,” added Mchunu.

She said the department would never ask prospective employers to pay a fee when applying for a position.
