Leonard Carr has said in an interview that he believed the Pistorius family were ‘low class’ and playing the role of self-appointed royalty.

Carr was as candid as ever as he said the Pistorius family were actually low class and enjoying the spotlight that Oscar’s trial brought them. He didn’t hold back as he reiterated Oscar was a narcissist who was violent.

On Reeva Steenkamp, Carr said that as an aspiring model there was a financial aspect as to why she dated Oscar, citing the former Paralympian giving her family money and her gaining “instant celebritydom”.

“That was the core of all the issues in their relationship,” said Carr.

On Oscar’s reaction during the court and sentencing trial, Carr said people expected too much of him, which was close to impossible as “Oscar is of low emotional intelligence; I would even go as far as to say he is not too bright”.

“I think his poor performance is not because he is a bad person but he genuinely doesn’t understand the issues. I think he went out with little girls of 18 and 19 because that is his emotional level,” Carr added.

Other issues Carr broached were claims Oscar had tried to commit suicide, his brother Carl and the psychological tests Oscar went through.
