A man, believed to be in his 40s, was found stabbed to death in a pool of blood on the side of a road in Krugersdorp.

Crime-scene tape cordoned off the area where the body of a man was found in a pool of blood yesterday afternoon, Krugersdorp News reports.

Patrollers from the Sector 4 and 9 Community Policing Forums swiftly responded to the scene in the service road running alongside Albertina Sisulu Road, where the lifeless body of a man was discovered on August 10 at 3.15pm.

They kept curious passersby away and helped make way for the paramedics and police.

“The man, believed to be in his 40s, died after he was stabbed by an unknown person,” said Athlenda Mathe, media liaison officer for Netcare 911.

Police arrived at the scene quickly and a docket was opened for investigation.

The man was declared dead on the scene by a Netcare 911 paramedic.

Details of the incident remain a subject for police investigation.
