Sundowns now the top-ranked side in Africa

Absa Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns are now ranked No 1 in Africa, according to the latest African club rankings.

According to the latest rankings published by Footballdatabase.com, the Brazilians are joint top with Tunisian sides Etoile du Sahel and Esperance on 1 588 points.

TP Mazembe (1 587) and Vita Club (1 581), who are both from DR Congo, complete the top five teams in Africa.

Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs have moved out of the top 10. Amakhosi are now ranked 11th.

Orlando Pirates have moved down to position 25, while Bidvest Wits have maintained their 22nd position.
