Baroka FC coach Kgoloko Thobejane says his side doesn’t believe in signing experienced players from the Absa Premiership.

Thobejane prefers to signing players from lower leagues instead of the tried and tested stars, Geofrey Massa is the only player with PSL experience signed by the newly promoted side.

with the exception of former Bloemfontein Celtic striker Geoffrey Massa, the Limpopo-based club has signed players from the National First Division and ABC Motsepe League.

“Our philosophy, we don’t believe in these people who have been playing and have all this experience. Our philosophy is [getting] a player who has played some football and is ready and can play at any level at any given time,” Thobejane tells KickOff.com.

“That is why, as you can see, we have only one player, Geofrey Massa from Bloemfontein Celtic [who was signed from a PSL team]. That is the way we do things,” the Bakgaga mentor stated.

“If we see someone and decide that they are perfect, then young or old we will give him a chance because football is about giving chances – you don’t restrict the player.”
